What qualities in you, as a woman and a designer, can be traced to your father's influence, guidance and presence?

I think he has inspired a solid work ethic for me. He has always juggled multiple projects simultaneously, having a day job, being a musician and operating a recording studio. In living this way, he always makes time for his art, while also being strong in logistics and practical thinking. I definitely think these are traits I see playing out on a daily basis for me, having my own business.

Is there a particular piece in your collection that speaks to your relationship with your father?

I would say that every style I design is reflective of him in some way. He is incredibly creative, while also having the mind of an engineer. There is a fair bit of analyzing and "problem solving" that occurs in bag design and he has always taught me to simplify the parts and pieces to help serve functionality and ease of use, a lesson that extends past the construction of tangible objects.
